The Matrix RF and eMatrix fractional ablative systems can achieve impressive skin resurfacing results, according to German dermatologist Dr. Dirk Landwehr.

Dr. Landwehr, who has been using the Matrix RF system since September of last year, said he believes that this system has a "real edge over other fractionated lasers."  The first is that you can "mimic different lasers by changing the setting of the system." 

Dr. Landwehr said that the Matrix RF / eMatrix has additional advantages over CO2 ablative laser resurfacing - including a shorter healing period, less chance of hyperpigmentation, and less potential for infection that can lead to scarring.  He also finds that the Matrix RF treatments achieve "particularly good results for acne patients" as well as "for fine lines under the eyes."
